Ford Tri-Motor Event 2012

Build A Plane

EAA Chapter 180 Build A Plane Program: Local kids take part in building a Van’s Aircraft RV12 from the ground up with supervision from experienced aircraft builders. It’s a two-seat all-metal side-by-side airplane with a large cabin that seats the occupants ahead of the wing spar for maximum room and superb visibility. The RV-12 is eligible to be licensed in the E-LSA category.

Young Eagles July 2012

We had a great day with 45 kids and 19 flights!  The weather was beautiful and we had a lot of youth from a local Church group which was awesome.  Of special note, one of our Young Eagles this day signed up for Private Pilot Lesson at Cirrus Aviation.   That story coming soon!

Young Eagles June 2012

See the look of excitement of the new Young Eagles from EAA Capter 180′s June Young Eagles Event.  This was a fun day with a special visit from Tom Norton and his RV-8.  Pilot Jeff Walston was the biggest trooper doing endless flights well into the day!

Young Eagles May 2012

This was an extremely fun day!  Pilot Dan Skoda showed up with his new 500 Young Eagles Hat from EAA, and we were all proud. Additionally all of our other pilots this day thouroughly enjoyed having the kids.

Young Eagles April 2012

One sweet restore Navion blessed our presence today!  This was the first month of our new “Stations Program” for Young eagles, and it went off like a hit!  Check out the smiles on these kids faces!
